Im using ambi fade cream for a month and half and my skin tone has really lightened up
I used it for months and was really satisfied with the result until, suddenly, it started to irritate my skin and my complexion became pretty uneven. I’ve found that ambi cream is very effective but harmful for skin.
It has hydroquinone in it. I’ve heard this component had been banned because of it side effects in some countries, while FDA still recommends it. There are some evidences it causes cancer. I used ambi fade products before but I’ve stopped after knowing that information. I’m still searching for safe product.
I am 50 years old woman with light skin. I used ambi cream for age spots. I didn’t see much difference. I only had irritation on my skin.
I have been using the soap for about two weeks and have noticed a diffrence. My next step is the creme to complete my look
Oh man…I just started using this stuff THREE days ago. It was cool at first. I tested it twice on my arm to see if I was sensitive to it and there were no burns or redness. So then, I used it in the morning and then at night because it says to use it twice a day in a very very thin layer (a single dot of the stuff, on the dark area) and I liked the way it smelled.
Today I used on my face it after getting out of the shower, got dressed real quick and left the house and my face started BURNING. I kept putting my palms to my face where I put the stuff because my hands were cold and it helped the burning sensation.
As soon as I was able to get to a water source, I washed my face and it stopped burning, but when I got home, I looked at my face, and I have chemical burns on the spots and the skin is raised and tender.
It hurts. I’ve been keeping cool towels on my face to ease the pain and hopefully there wont be any long lasting damage.
I am over 50 with an age spot on my face. I tried the fade cream on the spot day 1 with no problem. Day 2 I used the cream again on the spot and it BURNED!. It is now red and raised. I am using benadryl which helps temporarily. Hopefully this will go away.
I am embarrassed to say that I have used the product for over 15 yrs which is well beyond recommendation. I am a dark complected woman, so after maybe 5 years, my skin was beautiful and even. When I would stop using the cream, my skin would go back to being uneven. Today however I have stopped useage due to discoloration. I now have a huge dark spot on both cheeks and my forehead. I stopped using the product about 5 months ago. I have an appointment to see a dermatologist in Jan. Can anyone offer any advice until then?

I hope you were able to get the rash looked at on your face. The distribution is very suggestive of SLE (System Lupus Erythematosus), so definitely see a doctor soon.
I used this product for about two months to treat discoloration of skin due to acne. I stopped using this product after developing a rash around my mouth. I am now noticing light colored blotches (I have a caramel colored complexion) on areas of my face. This product did absolutely nothing to lighten the acne discoloration. All it did was lighten the areas outside the area of the acne discoloration…I would never use this prodcut or any other skin lighten product
ever again. I owuld suggest consulting with a dermatalogist for skin conditions…Quick fixes can oftentimes make things much worse.
hello everyone i have just recieved dis item abmi soap and also the fade cream it really does work my face is gettn real ligt i mean bright almost every two weeks i have stop usin it for a wile bcuz i was gettm a lil two light but i do not have any black spots n my face n trust me i had a lot but now my skin is real clear n pretty
Gaia, the same thing happened to me. I began using Ambi to get rid of the dark spots left behind from acne. I had two dark spots, one on each side of my face (on my cheeks). At first the spots began to lighten up, but then I started noticing that the area around the dark spots were getting lighter and lighter. I was only using a dot on each spot. Now I have the same two dark spots and light spots on each cheek. I look ridiculous! I just wear makeup now to cover the dark spots. I will not be using this or any other product like it again. I will just cover it up with make up from now on. I can only pray that my color will come back on those light spots.
I bought this product a long time ago and I noticed that it did lighten up my face, but not in the areas I wanted it to. I wanted the dark spots on my cheeks lightened, yet they remained dark and hyperpigmented while the surrounding area on my cheeks lightened instead, which was frustrating, so when it finished I did not buy it again and my face went back to the colour it was.
Then after using a few others products and seeing no change I decided to buy Ambi again, this time I bought 3 tubes, thinking the more I applied and the longer I used it, the longer the effects would last and hopefully lighten the areas I actually wanted, but on my second use of the product the same thing happened, and it lightened up my face too much in the areas that was not necessary.
I have heard others say it has worked for them, but I am glad in a way that it did not work for me, as I began to get concerned that with continued use I would damage my skin further due to the potent ingredients, which I have seen on youtube videos and news articles have happened to other women.
I would rather find a product that does not have hydroquninone as an ingredient so that if I do need to continue using the product to keep the results, it will not damage my skin severely.
I started using Ambi last tuesday an it is working very well, I was scared because I go running every morning an by it being summer the sun is beaming on my face. So I just decided to start using the treadmill so now I won’t get sunburn, but overall I like Ambi reading all you all’s comments is making me want to stop using it. After this week I plan to stop using Ambi so it won’t damage my skin.
My skin has not been sensitive in the past and I started using Ambi on my face so far with no averse results. I’ve started putting a thin layer over my cheeks and chin morning and night.
I always though that the tube is huge for just dotting onto problem spots, and so before my product expires I’m trying it over a larger area of skin before I have to toss it out.
The info about the hydroquninone is concerning, so I might have to look into other products next month.
I have been using the Ambi fade cream for normal skin for about 2 months now…It has lighted up my dark areas greatly but I only use it once a day opposed to twice a day..I have begun to feel some skin irritation (itchy, tender) so what I’ve may do is begin to use it every other day…I use it on the entire face so it can be more effective in giving me a more complete even tone….Not to sure about Hydroquninone being cancer causing but I will be researching that shortly. My dermatologist prescribe a strong bleaching cream called Tri-Luma some years back and that was serious stuff my skin was peeling like I was a reptile of course I discontinued use of that product….so Ambi in comparison to that cream is childs play….I will continue use of my Ambi products until I reach my desired complexion results…PROCEEDING and Good Luck Ladies and Gents….

If it burns your skin just after a day of using this cream or anyother strong cream maybe you are allergic to it. It’s not the cream necessarily but you. I know many women that have skin allergies and didn’t even know it. When I use a certain type of cream or bran my face breaks out in pimples but it’s not the same with all products.
Also, with any kind of fade cream or even salon facial peals it’s always said to use sun block no less than 30. Why? well, cause you’re fading your skin. It makes it vulnerable to sun rays hens the spots come back and with a vengence.
Ladies, use common sence don’t blame it on the products the first moment things go wrong. Your face isn’t equal to your arm or leg skin. Test the product on a small place of your face. Then you’ll really know if your allergic to it.
I don’t recommend using any fade cream for a long period of time or the product recommended daily dose. Start of slow. See what happens. Don’t SHOCK your face into reacting a certain way. Be patient. After you have the results you want, skip a day or two before using it again. Let your face take a break.
I used Ambi fade cream on dark spots on my hands just a couple of times and got blisters looking like I had a burn, it never itched or burned when applied but it sure raised blisters…glad I didn’t try it on my face.

I’ve had some of the same issues as some of the previous comments. I purchased the Ambi fade cream (the supposedly gentle kind) as well as the moisturizer. I used the cream only a few times, and not even every day, and it lightened my skin! I isn’t marketed as a lightening cream and so I guess it’s my own fault for not knowing fade = lightening. I didn’t want to lighten my skin, I like my color, I just wanted an even tone. I’m a medium-complexion African-American and each time I get a pimple, it leaves a dark mark. I don’t wear make-up, I just wanted to have an even tone. I used this product and it left white spots on my skin! I’m so disappointed! The only positive thing I can say about this product is that it made my skin feel very soft.
Previously I used a Neutrogena peel and it left white spots. I even went to the doctor and they didn’t know what to do, he just diagnosed it as hypo-pigmentation. I read in a magazine that sometimes peels don’t work well on African-American skin. I decided to use Ambi because it is marketed for women of color. I thought it somehow did something to make the acne scar go away, not lighten the skin. I don’t know if I’ll ever get my color back.
If you decide to try Ambi, just be careful and read other people’s comments.
I used Ambi cream 2 weeks ago. Have not really notice any change in my skin except I get huge bumps on my face. I have tried to use this product before many months ago. I get the same results. I stopped using this product
i too used ambi and my skin got really blotchy i am so nervous i hope my skin turns back to its normal color i would not recommend this to ANYONE
I brought a tube of Ambi and the soap last summer. I started using it twice daily and YES it burned my skin. My grandmother told me to only use the fade cream at night and to buy the Ambi Even & Clear Moisturizer and use it during the day. I must say that I have gotten fantastic results. My grandmother has been using Ambi since I was a lil girl and she knows her stuff! I had dark circles which I no longer have and My skin is like butter! I shower with the soap as well. As a matter of fact I started putting the Fade Cream on my Pregnancy Stretch Marks from 11 years ago and they started to fade as well!
I Recommend this product but first consult your doctor or your Granny as I did! *smile*
I used Even better lotion from clinic on my face for four months, it was working but not as fast as I was told, so a friend recommended me to try Ambi that is a lot more cheaper than Clinic products, and I have been using it for two weeks and I started to feel my face itching with some swallow areas, that’s why I started to read about the effects of the hydroquinone and I will better go back to the one I was using.
I tried this cream today and within minutes my skin is burning. I’m making an appointment as soon as possible. I will NEVER use it again. The tube I brought is currently in the garbage. I won’t recommend this product to anyone.
the Ambi facial care kit and used it for approx. 1.5 – 2 weeks. The first time I used the product I washed my face with the facial cleanser and first contact it felt like someone had poured acid on my face. That should have been my first sign to discontinue the product, but foolishly I didn’t. I then used the daily moisturizer which added insult to injury! I’ve always had super sensitive skin so I figured my skin just need to adjust to the product. Its now been 2 weeks and I have discontinued the product. My skin has been chemically burned. I have blotches, peeling skin, and dark spots on my cheeks and jawline. My face has never looked like this and I feel so ashamed and embarrassed. I PRAY my skin will return back to normal. In helping it return back to normal I started taking Hair, Skin, and Nail vitamins. I also take a multivitamin, and I drink lots of water. I have stumbled across this product called Emu Oil that has been working wonders for the irritation and peeling of my skin. I would never recommend this product to anyone, not even my worst enemy!

I have been using Ambi for 2 years and it really works. If I apply it twice a day I do feel a burning sensation but it has removed all my dark marks within a month. I highly recommend the Ambi Mark Minimizer cream. It will cost you about $13 but it’s worth it.
I have been using Ambi for 2 weeks and nothing has changed. I apply it twice a day (under eyes) sometimes I forget and will only do it once a day. Nothing has happened at all. My doctor gave me a prescription for Hydroquinone ( higher than 2%) two years ago and I let the tube expire. I had no problems with it so I purchased the Ambi product to give it a try. I will discontinue using Ambi, as I have some what sensitive skin. I will continue using Dove sensitive skin (my favorite soap..less drying) and I will be applying pure African shea butter for my dark undereye circles. Shea butter is great for our skin and more natural. I have had great reults using shea butter in a short time ( 2-3 wks) so I will use it on my face again.Thanks!
Ok so about three months ago I’ve noticied that my face was breaking out alot more than usual. Instead of the usual one or two pimples, there were three or four on one cheek. I haven’t broken out like that since high school! Anyway so I assumed that the cleanser and moisturizer I was using was the cause (funny I have usedthat product for years and it’s never broken me out so badly

So I switched to Ambi. I will say this I have eczema. My skin is very very sensitive. But one night I was watching BET and I saw the commercial decided to visit the website. I read about the good things the products does for women of color who suffer from discoloration and blemishes. Anyway long story short I used the exfoiliating wash, cleanser, and moisturizer for three months without any results. Actually my face looked worse then before switching to Ambi. This product is suppose to prevent breakouts isn’t it? I didn’t want to give up yet so I bought the fade cream for oily skin. The first couple of times I used it it burned or made my face feel VERY stretchy. I saw a dermatologist Friday and she told me Ambi flared up my eczema and prescribed me some medications for the acne. In six weeks I’ll be starting bleaching treatments for the discoloration. In the meantime I guess I’ll be using my makeup to cover the horrible scars thanks to this product
Okay so I have been using Ambi Fade Cream, & also Ambi Even & Clear Foaming Cleanser for about three days now and I must say “IT REALLY WORKS!!” I don’t have horrible acne any more, I get maybe 1 or 2 little pimples every now and then and since I have been using both of my Ambi products I have not had 1 breakout! And I have seen the difference in my skins texture(much softer!), however I have not seen any difference in the discoloration marks on my face… but I am going to continue the use of both of these products 2 times a day for the next 2 months and if I do not see an improvement I will be discontinuing the use of these products, but so far so good I’m just going to have to wait and see.!
The only thing I wash my face with is the coca buttercleansing bar and I’ve been doing do for OVER 7. Ambi is primarily for ethnic women (note it’s found on the ethnic isle at Wal-Mart) so’ I’m really curious to know if it’s birthing ethnic women. I just started using the fading cream for the dark spots under my eyes…. I’m pretty confident in the brand so I’m anticipating results. I would also NEVER put any product with harsh chemicals on my skin and go out in the sun! That’s asking for trouble!
i just started using it today becausee i have seen for myself a woman who had been using it for a year and had amazing results!!!!!!!!!!! i have sunspots and am hoping to make them better. if you are experiencing burning its probably because you did not put on sunblock it says that it will make your skin sensitive to the sun while using it so put on sunblock

I have began using Ambi 2 days ago, I see a slight change or it might just be my acne cream at work ( Tazorac ) after reading these reviews I am very skeptical about its ability to clear acne spots. I think I will begin using it on my feet ( where I have browned up over my vacation to India ) instead, after all the blisters on my feet won’t really matter since the whole world isn’t look at it. I’ve been using this product for a few weeks and my skin became blotchy. I have oily skin and this particular tube is for oily skin. The texture of my skin is smoother. ( I also use the even&clear soap) Over all my skin is brighter but blotchy. I am not sure if I’ll purchase this product again, but so far it’s ok. My face looks good after I wash and moisterize it, when I sweat, its a whole ‘nother story! Over all, it’s trial and error. Proceede with caution!

Apply the cream only on desired spots . not the whole face . not during the day . dont wash with soap or hot water . avoid the sun . fair skinned people or people with sensitive skin. stay away . this stuff works . but its dangereux . you must know what to do .

Most reviewers are not using a skin bleaching product properly. NEVER apply directly after washing your face. Wait one hour. Never overuse thinking you will get better results. Finally, don’t use other products as there can be interactions. Use at night, use vaseline to keep moist and use sunscreen in day Don’t over do.hydraquinone is effective but irritating. Plus dark spots have memory….you will always have to treat the areas.
PS. Start out slowly. Give your skin time to build tolerance. DO NOT UHILE ON ANTIBIOTICS.
Hey! I am a 12 year old girl and i started useing this product to get my freckles away, butone day i woke up with two HUGE brown sports on my cheek and one under my chin! Igot so mad and started blaming ambi and everything, but then i realized it was my fault! I didn’t put the ambi in those areas and ambi lightens your skin tone! I reccomend either putting it all over your face or on spots. My freckles havent completely gone away yet, but im sure they are getting lighter. And the dark spots went away after i started putting ambi on my whole face! I reccomend this product to people with lighter skin tones 100%!
This product have runined my face! i sed it day and night like it said on the packet beacuse i just wanted to even ouy my complextion (im dark skinned by the way)then my mum started noticing light patches appearing all over my face!!! I am livid, i dont know how im going to get rid of it, the only soulotion i can think of right now is to buy a GOOD fade cream not no chea stuff to even it out…NEVER AGAIN..So if your are planning to buy thins and ur dark skinned DONT!
I have been using Ambi Fade Cream on and off for many years now. It definatley works. When I have a spot on my face that I want to lighten up, I would apply a thick layer to the entire area and apply Vaseline around the borderline to prevent the fading cream from fading the wrong areas(outside the area of concern)then I would go to bed and wake up the next morning and actually see some results. When using this method in hot weather conditions, like if your room or home is really hot and you apply the cream, the results happen allot faster. Just becarful not to go outside in the sun without applying at least 30 SPF sunscreen or some sunblock because if you don’t all the dark spots you previously lightened will become dark again, maybe even darker the they were originally.

I started using ambi a while ago on my legs. They have dark spots What ever i used they would never go away. I have normal skin and my dark spots faded perfectly no problems at all I only use it at night though. I stop using it a few months ago and my dark spots didn’t come back. Although i wouldn’t reccomend it to many people after reading these reviews, it seems to have more negative reviews than positive.
I have used Ambi several times but i kept giving up after 2 weeks b/c my skin would breakout.But that was a long time ago, I am going to try again, I am going to keep with it one last time.In high school a friend used it had had nice results but it got worse before it got better. she was faithfully applying it. her face began to lighten in spots, it was a sight, but she did not panic she knew she had to keep using it until she got her results. finally one day she had achieved her results of even skin. Again, the reason I kept giving up is my cheeks kept breaking out badly, it is happening again right at two weeks like many times before. but i am going to take some of the suggestions from you all. like using even and clear potion during the day and fade potion at night and see if things get better. my breakout is not serious nor is it hurting but it is noticeable. I am going to keep going until I can not stand it anymore like before. i may try Palmers skin success later down the road if this does not workout. I will rest in between experiments.

I had bought this before and forgot why I stopped using it. I have bought it again and I see that using it less than what is recommended helps with irritation. I am pregnant and my skin is beautiful. My skin is actually acne prone and it takes a long time for dark spots to fade. My color is a honey brown and it looks great. I also use sunscreen in the day under makeup. It says use twice a day..NO WAY! I use this stuff maybe 2 times a week. The trick is to use it at night, wash it off immediately the next day and give your skin a break from it. I wash with black soap, exfoliate weekly with an oatmeal scrub, and change my pillow cases a lot. No product will work exactly then same with everyone. Good Luck!
The main reason people feel the burning sensation is because people mistaken apply it on their whole face. its only supposed to go on dark spots. and after you put it on you should use your regular moisturizer with SPF to keep the burning atba minimum.
this product doesn’t work as much as the prvious version of the cream ,I4got the colour of the base the previous one used to be in but that one worked for me in one night by spot treat’n it but now after 2 years after a pimple i burst,i got back a darkspot from dat and I bought this cream thinking it was the same but it’s not they banned the previous product called ambi b4 this one in the brown base which doesn’t really work for me
